Zoom Series: Many Ways to Move

Inquiry

How do you move? Does how you move change when you are in different spaces and with different people?

This 4-week series explores different ways to move as part of a yoga/movement practice.

When do you turn to familiar and comforting movements? When do you venture into uncomfortable or new movements? What signals help you know what is the “next right thing” for your body and your life?

Answers to these questions won’t look to same for different people, and they will also change for you as the seasons change and as your life evolves. Each week of this series will focus on different approaches to movement in an effort to embody these questions on your mat.


What to Expect

  • Week One: Breath & Movement - Simple postures linked to your breath with repetition.

  • Week Two: Extending the Pause - Linger in postures to challenge and support yourself.

  • Week Three: Playing with Form - Explore intricate shapes and patterns of movement with curiosity and play.

  • Week Four: Sliding & Gliding - Stay low to the earth with a SATYA sequence that includes restorative postures like legs up the wall and ends with an option for seated meditation.

You will be invited to journal on how each session impacts your body, mind, heart, and spirit.

This series is inspired by an interview between Krista Tippett and Priya Parker featured on the On Being Podcast (episode 994, September 30, 2021). I highly encourage you to listen to this episode sometime before the series begins.

Dates: Thursdays, October 21, 28, November 4, 11

Time: 5:30-6:30 pm PST

Tuition: $45-$80 sliding scale. Series Valued at $60. Additional discounts are available; please email me for more information.

  • 60-minutes of themed practice that connects over the four-week series.

  • Recordings are uploaded to a private YouTube link after every class. Perfect if you have to miss a class unexpectedly, the time doesn’t work for you regularly, or you want to repeat the practice again later. Available indefinitely.

  • No refunds or credits.
