Soft & Strong

Do you find it helpful to softly ease into a strong practice? Sink into the earth to drop your bones and re-set the activity that tends to fill your day. Sliding & gliding movements initiate change with minimal effort and maximum efficiency.

This soft awareness will connect to your inner strength. Use yoga props to explore adaptive and novel ways of doing familiar postures. We will emphasize standing postures and shapes that counter-pose working on your computer. Work hard enough to get stronger without depleting your resources.

Flow, Form, & Fire

Do you want to build heat and intensity slowly and mindfully in your practice? Tend the fire of awareness on your back with supported movements to gradually build in intensity. With this focused attention, you will explore dynamic standing postures blending flow and form to connect you to your inner strength.

Props become tools to offer information and feedback as you slide and resist in new ways. Explore novel ways of approaching the occasional arm balance or inversion (with alternatives offered) from a strong foundation of fundamental movements and postures.

I have been a devoted student of Dawn since 2013. Her yoga classes are the perfect synergy of alignment, meditation and core work. Her thoughtfulness and passion shows through in every class and her hands-on assists are divine. I feel so lucky to have a teacher like Dawn in Santa Cruz!!
