Winter Rhythms

Mid-Winter Rhythms

Mid-Winter brings short days and long nights that are cold and damp. These environmental influences may lead us to feel tired and uninspired. Are you finding it challenging to keep the rhythms that nourish and inspire you flowing? Combined with the challenges Covid has brought into our lives, it may feel like it takes an unreasonable amount of effort to do simple things.

You aren't alone in feeling this way. Simple things are hard, and that is real and reasonable considering what we have gone through for the past few years.

This month's series of yoga classes are designed to honor the rhythms of winter, and of this unique winter. Practicing together offers support and accountability. We will experiment to discover what is needed, and hopefully, you will discover what is enough for you from week to week.

We will honor the rhythms of the day by practicing earlier when the sun is building in its strength (9am PST & noon EST). Your practice will evolve as we consider the following inquiries:

How much movement is helpful? How much support do I need? Am I getting enough rest? What helps me feel strong? How do I attune my attention when it wanders? What is obvious? What is subtle?
